TITLE: SQL Server Setup failure.
——————————

SQL Server Setup has encountered the following error:

Invoke or BeginInvoke cannot be called on a control until the window handle has been created..

——————————
BUTTONS:

OK
——————————

I got this error while installing SQL server 2008. Drove me nuts to find out how to resolve it. Just close all instances of anything to do with Microsoft. Even if you have a windows explorer close it. On the task bar you need to see only the installer. If you have Outlook opened close that as well. Then start the installer and it should work.

Source – googled it.

How to link a cell from excel to a paragraph in a word document.

Today i was given the task to link some cells from an excel document to a set of headings in a word file. It was a bit time consuming however I found out how it was done.

Just follow the steps below.

Things you need to know:-

  1. Make sure both the files are in the same location.
  2. If the word file is renamed after the links are made, you will get an error and remake all the links.
  3. The excel file can be renamed after you link the doc.
  4. This was successful in Office 2007. I didn’t check with previous office versions.

Getting the word document ready.

  1. Select the text you want to show when the link is clicked on the excel file.
  2. Select the “Insert” tab and click on “Bookmark” under “Links
    word1
  3. Give a name for the bookmark. For easy reference I use the selected wording as the name for the bookmark. Now click on “Add”.
    word2
  4. You are done with the document.

Linking it with the excel file.

  1. Open the excel file and select the cell you want to link with the word document.
  2. Right-click on the cell and select “Hyperlink”.
    excel1
  3. In the “Insert Hyperlink” dialog box select “Existing File or Web Page” then “Current Folder” and then select the file. Once the file is selected you will need to point to the bookmark in the word file. So after the name of the document add “#Testing” (where testing is the name of your bookmark).
    excel2
  4. So the Address bar in the bottom will contain something like the following.
    c:\testing\testing.doc#Testing
  5. Click on “OK” and you should be all set.

Good luck

How to change the title in the .CHM file

Ever wondered how to change the title in the .CHM file in robohelp?

I have been through almost all the settings in Robohelp and I have found nothing worked. I googled and narrowed down my search and I found I needed to edit a file. This was only what I found, I don’t know if there is a setting in Robohelp that actually will set this internally. One main requirement is you will need to have the layout set as “Primary”

Prerequisites
You will need to change the layout to – “Primary Layout” for “Microsoft HTML HELP” if your primary layout is something else.

1. Open Robohelp 7.

2. Open the file you need to change the heading.

3. Right click on the “Microsoft HTML HELP” in the “Single Source Layout” pod.

4. In the context menu select “Set as Primary Layout”.

Now you can follow the steps below to change the header.
1. Open “Windows Explorer” and then browse to the location of your project files.

2. Find the fiel xxxx.hpp (where xxxx is the name of the project.)

3. Open “Notepad” and then click and drag this file to notepad.

4. Once it’s open you will see a section that says

“[WINDOWS]
NewWindow=”Tempus XXX XXX”,”Tempus Basic Data.hhc”,”Tempus Basic Data.hhk”,””,””,,,,,0x40080520,0,0×3006,[5,5,512,384],0x0,0x0,,0,0,0″

Now you can change the text in the first sextion with the X’s to what you want the header to be.

NOTE:
······Remeber you will need to have “Microsoft HTML HELP” as your primary layout or that file will not be created.
